Exchange 2009

In November 2009, we welcomed Professor Rupi and two of his students from the Salvador project to the UK for the first time. Rupi, Teimoso (15) and Abelha (12) braved the English weather to train with us, visit Oxford sites, spend a day in London, learn some English and beat us at bowling...

Abelha has trained with the project since it started and won a local Capoeira competition last year. Teimoso travelled to South Africa during our first exchange in 2007 and hopes to go to university one day. These cultural exhanges allow the people we support to travel, have new experiences and be rewarded for their commitment to Capoeira and their group.

A big thanks to everyone who supported the exchange. And a big thanks to Professor Rupi, Teimoso and Abelha. We hope to see them again soon! Check out the pictures below.
